All-Russian congress of Russian philology teachers

From 5-7 November 2019 the All-Russian congress of Russian philology teachers was held at Moscow University.

1 983 delegates from 81 subjects of the Russian Federation and representatives of 47 countries attended this event. On the first day 914 people took part in the work of 9 sections; on the second day the Congress continued its work in 5 round tables, where the role of Russian literature and intercultural communication in the interdisciplinary educational space, the reading culture of modern youth were discussed in the form of free discussion. In addition a separate platform was devoted to modern Pushkin studies.

Also within the Congress the International scientific conference Language. Idea. Text. took place in the Shuvalov building. More than 100 philosophers, psychologists, political scientists and journalists attended 5 sections.

After that a meeting with Head of the Federal service for supervision in education and science Sergey Kravtsov was held. The session was dedicated to improving the tools for assessment procedures in the Russian language and literature. The delegates sent a large number of letters to the organizing Committee and asked to convey their gratitude to Mr. Kravtsov for a meaningful and highly professional conversation.

A real gift to the delegates and students was a meeting with writers Alexei Varlamov and Leo Danilkin.

Members of the International Association of teachers of Russian language and literature (MAPRYAL) Presidium were invited to the Congress.
They took an active part in the section Russian school abroad. Beyond that MAPRYAL President Vladimir Tolstoy held a meeting of the Presidium.

On 5 November 2019 President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin emphasized at the Council on the Russian Language the importance of Russian literature in preserving the historical memory and the fundamental role of the Russian language for the unity of our multinational country

He also outlined the need for an active and holistic language policy that will ensure the preservation and development of the Russian language and Russian literature in Russia and in the world.
