Olympiads

Every year Lomonosov Moscow State University holds 7 Olympiads of school students included in the List approved by the Order of the Ministry of science and higher education of the Russian Federation No. 658 dated 30 August 2019. Olympiads are held in two stages: qualifying and final. School students of grades 5-11 can participate in Olympiads. In accordance with the current legislation, winners and prize-winners of the final stages of the Olympiads are granted special rights when entering higher education institutions. The list of special rights granted to Lomonosov Moscow State University is published on the website of the Central admission Committee of Moscow State University at: www.cpk.msu.ru


   LOMONOSOV OLYMPIAD FOR SCHOOL STUDENTS 


Lomonosov Olympiad for school students has been held since 2005 under the motto Via scientiarum, which in Latin means The Path to Knowledge. Lomonosov is the most representative in terms of the number of participants compared to other olympiads from the List of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation (in the academic year 2018/19, more than 30,000 students from all regions of Russia tried their hand at it). It is also the leader in the set of profiles.

In the 2019/20 academic year, the Olympiad is held in 25 profiles: biology, geography, geology, journalism, engineering, a foreign language, computer science, history, the history of Russian statehood, astronautics, literature, international relations and global studies, mathematics, mechanics and mathematical modeling, social science, political science, law, entrepreneurship (new profile), psychology, robotics, Russian, physics, philosophy, chemistry and ecology.

The main goal of the Olympiad is to identify the creative abilities of students and increase their interest in research activities. To ensure equal access to participation in the Olympiads movement of school students from different regions of our country. Olympiads are held not only in Moscow, but also in a number of regions of the Russian Federation, as well as in the CIS countries.

The qualifying stage of Lomonosov Olympiad will begin on October 14, 2019. The final stages will be held in February-March 2020.

   CONQUER THE SPARROW HILLS OLYMPIAD FOR SCHOOL STUDENTS

One of the most famous olympiads for school students. It has been held by Lomonosov Moscow State University in conjunction with the Publishing House Moskovskij Komsomolets since 2005. The Olympiad takes place at various regional venues, so that children from all over Russia can participate in it.

In the 2019/20 academic year, the Olympiad is held in 9 profiles: biology, geography, journalism, foreign languages, history, literature, mathematics, social studies and physics.

The qualifying stage will begin on November 15, 2019. The final stages will be held in February-March 2020.

   MOSCOW OLYMPIAD FOR SCHOOL STUDENTS 


It has a rich history. The Olympiad in mathematics, held by Moscow State University in 1935, was the start of the Olympiad movement of school students in Moscow. Currently, MSU participates in the organization of the Olympiad in geography, computer science, linguistics, mathematics, physics and chemistry. Moscow team is formed from the students who showed the best results at the Olympiad. They will participate in the all-Russian Olympiad of school students.

The qualifying stage will begin in October 2019. The final stages will be held in February-March 2020.

    STATE AUDIT OLYMPIAD FOR SCHOOL STUDENTS 


State Audit Olympiad on a set of subjects (social studies, economics, history) has been held at Lomonosov Moscow State University since February 2009. It is interdisciplinary in nature. The Olympiad gives students the opportunity to show creativity in solving non-standard problems in the field of social science, law and economics.

The qualifying stage is held in November 2019 - January 2020. The final stage will be in March 2020.

   ALL-RUSSIAN INTERNET-OLYMPIAD NANOTECHNOLOGIES - BREAKTHROUGH TO THE FUTURE 


Interdisciplinary Olympiad is held in the field of Nanotechnology. This is an interesting intellectual competition for students in grades 7�11, aimed at developing creative abilities and innovative thinking in several areas at once - chemistry, physics, mathematics and biology. The Olympiad is held in conjunction with the Fund for Infrastructure and Educational Programs. Participants of the Olympiad are also waiting for design work contests and other creative competitions with industrial partners.

The qualifying stage of the Olympiad is held in November 2019. The final stage will be at the end of March 2020.

   ROBOFEST OLYMPIAD FOR SCHOOL STUDENTS 


The Olympiad is held in physics. It was first organized in the 2015/16 academic year by Lomonosov Moscow State University and Volnoe Delo Foundation as part of the RoboFest All-Russian Robotic Festival. School students from 7�11 grades can take part in the Olympiad.

The uniqueness of the Olympiad lies in the fact that school students have to solve classical physics problems with elements of robotics and design their own robots that perform complex tasks. It is important that this Olympiad is not only a competition, but also physics training: open on-line courses are constantly open for participants.

Registration of participants will begin in November 2019. The qualifying stage of the Olympiad is held from December 2019 to February 2020. The final stage will begin in March 2020.

   LOMONOSOV TOURNAMENT FOR SCHOOL STUDENTS 


A multidisciplinary competition in mathematics, physics, chemistry, astronomy and earth sciences, biology, literature, linguistics, history and mathematical games. Tasks are aimed at school students in grades 6�11.

The tournament has the original rules: seniors perform tasks in one audience, and all other participants can freely switch from audience to audience, choose their own profiles and decide how much time to spend on each of them.

The purpose of the Tournament is to provide participants with material for thought and to encourage those interested in serious science studies. More than 50,000 school students participate in the Olympiad annually.

The qualifying stage of the 42nd Lomonosov Tournament took place on September 29, 2019. The final stage will be held on March 9, 2020.
