All-Russian Forum of Professional Navigation ProeКТОriYA

Date /

From 23 to 26 November 2019 the All-Russian Forum of Professional Navigation ProeКТОriYA was held in Yaroslavl. MSU students Maria Sobko (Faculty of Chemistry) and Jacob Barkar (Faculty of Fundamental Physical and Chemical Engineering) presented the project Chemical Laboratory in Virtual Reality  in the practical zone Ecology. This project is not accidental. Firstly, 2019 was proclaimed as the International Year of the Periodic Table of Chemical Elements in honor of the 150th anniversary of the Periodic Law of Chemical Elements (opened by Dmitry Mendeleev). Secondly, all chemical laboratory work is carried out with the help of virtual reagents, which are completely harmless to nature.

Chemical laboratory in virtual reality is an innovative virtual space for practical work in chemistry. With this project, students of schools and universities can carry out experiments using VR-glasses and controllers with virtual reagents without leaving the classroom. More than 50 school students got acquainted with the developments and conducted laboratory work  online at the ProeКТОriYA site during the forum.

The most popular areas for school students were practical works on producing hydrogen and studying the types of crystal lattices.

It is worth noting that such technologies are a vivid example of digitalization in education. MSU Students under the leadership of professors in the framework of the creation of regional scientific and educational consortia Vernadsky are ready to implement their developments in the Russian regions.
