CERN School

Date /

On March 26, 2014 the Lomonosov MSU Centre for National Intellectual Reserve (CNIR), the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) and the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR) signed a trilateral agreement to cooperate in the areas of science, technology and education.

In order to facilitate the integration of young Russian researchers into the global science community and to extend their participation in international research projects, the leaders of the MSU CNIR, CERN and JINR decided to organize a series of joint education events.

For example, in summer 2014, CERN plans to organize a school in high energy physics for postgraduates and students preparing their postgraduate study applications. The five-day program of the school includes lectures delivered by leading physics scientists, discussions as well as visits to science laboratories and experimental facilities, namely LHC, ATLAS, and CMS.

In order to participate in the selection round of the event, applicants should e-mail a completed application form by June 15, 2014 to intellect@cnir.ru (please mark “CERN School” in the subject line). In addition, applications should include a letter of recommendation from the applicant’s research supervisor. This letter should give a detailed outline of the applicant’s research potential. Application forms can be downloaded from http://www.cnir.ru/?p=1068.
