International Forum "University Education Today and Tomorrow"

On November 19, 2020, Lomonosov Moscow State University and the Russian Union of Rectors held an International Forum University Education Today and Tomorrow in a remote format within the framework of the Lomonosov 2020 Forum. The event was attended by more than 1,000 people. Representatives of more than 20 higher educational institutions of Russia and abroad discussed topical issues in the field of university education.

The main topics of the first session of the Forum were the role of Vernadsky scientific and educational consortia in the development of the regions, academic mobility of students and training of personnel. The discussion was moderated by the Rector of Moscow University, Academician Viktor Sadovnichy, and the Rector of Kemerovo State University, Alexander Prosekov. Viktor Antonovich noted that to date, 17 agreements have been signed with the subjects of the Russian Federation on the creation of scientific and educational consortia "Vernadsky", and at the forum the 18th agreement is being signed with the acting Governor of the Kamchatka Territory V. V. Solodov, a graduate of Moscow University. Another 10 regions expressed their desire to join the network of consortia, which indicates the demand for this project, aimed at integrating the forces and capabilities of education, science and innovation.

Alexander Prosekov, in a message about joint work within the framework of the Vernadsky program, noted that a lot has already been done over the year, including:

- 500 students prepared and took part in the Vernadsky program;

- 75 teachers, despite the epidemiological situation, visited Moscow University to improve their skills;

– a strategy for the development of the Kemerovo Region-Kuzbass was jointly prepared;

– For the first time, Kemerovo State University has become a platform-an equal partner of the most prestigious Lomonosov School Olympiad in the Russian Federation in the key subjects for the region: chemistry, physics, mathematics, and biology.

The program of the Forum consisted of four sessions devoted to new trajectories of the development of fundamental education, cognitive models of educational technologies in the digital world, and educational directions in the university corporation. Reports on these sessions by the President of the Russian Union of rectors, rector of Moscow state University named after M. V. Lomonosov academician V. A. Sadovnichy, Chairman of the Council of rectors of Kemerovo region, the rector of the Kemerovo state University A. Y. Prosekov, Deputy Chairman of the government of Tula region, the V. Lavrukhin, Deputy Governor of Kuzbass for Education and Science E. A. Pakhomova, Rector of Voronezh State University D. A. Endovitsky, Governor of Kamchatka Krai V. V. Solodov, Vice-President of the Brazilian Psychological Society Horaeb Ricardo, President of the European Federation of Psychological Associations Steinebach Christoph, Professor of the National Laboratory of Cognitive Neuroscience and Training of Beijing Pedagogical University Tau Sha, Co-chairman of the Council of the Student Union of Moscow State University E. I. Zimakova, Acting Vice-President for Academic Affairs at the University of Caldwell, Chernobyl Hellenic Valley, and many others.

At the end of the Forum, the Rector of Moscow State University announced the first part of the authors of the best reports of the international scientific conference of students, postgraduates, and young scientists "Lomonosov-2020" and summed up the results of the event.
