Pushkin Day in Russia is celebrated every year on June 6. The literary creation of the great Russian poet Alexander Pushkin accompanies us throughout our lives. His works unite people of all ages, religions, nationalities, and are translated into dozens of languages. Pushkin's poetry festival has the status of all-Russian. The Poet’s birth anniversary received the state status in 1997 according to the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation " On 200th birthday anniversary of Alexander Pushkin and Pushkin Day in Russia foundation".  In this holiday, as in the old days, thousands of people gather to listen to poetry performed by young or already fulfilled poets in the Pushkin Mountains and in the Pushkin estate in Mikhaylovskoye. Pushkin day in Russia is celebrated annually in all cities of the country. Also this day there are many cultural events dedicated to the legacy of this great poet, literature and the Russian language. On 6 June 2011 the President of the Russian Federation signed a Decree to annually hold the Russian Language Day in order to "preserve, support and develop the Russian language as the national heritage of the peoples of the Russian Federation, the means of international communication and an integral part of the cultural and spiritual heritage of the world civilization". We congratulate on the holiday!
