MSU Advanced Educational Scientific Center graduates success at the IMO
Date /Graduates of the Advanced Educational Scientific Center (faculty) - Kolmogorov’s Boarding School of Moscow State University Timofey Kovalev and Oleg Smirnov won gold medals at the 60th International Math Olympiad (IMO), which is held these days in the British city of Bath.
School students from more than 100 countries took part in the Olympiad. The competition included two stages, in each of which it was necessary to solve three problems. Tasks covered different areas of school math: geometry, number theory, algebra and combinatorics. School students from AESC MSU became the best in the Russian team, four other members won silver medals.
Russia will be the host country of the next Olympiad in 2020. The solemn transfer of the flag will be held at the closing ceremony.
