MSU students team won the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC-2019). Moreover, the Russian team became a two-time full champion for the first time in the history of the competition.

The ICPC – 2019 final stage has just finished in Porto (Spain). MSU students became the winners of the contest. They have upheld their status and became two-time full champions. In addition, the guys’ achievement was the eighth victory for Russia in a row.

The contest was attended by 135 teams from all around the world (incl. Russia). More than 52 thousand students from 3233 universities of 110 countries took part in the qualifying stage. Russia was represented by teams from 10 universities: Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU), Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT), Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI), Higher School of Economics (HSE), ITMO University, Saint Petersburg State University (SPbU), Ural Federal University (UrFU), Saratov State University (SGU) and Lomonosov Northern (Arctic) Federal University (NArFU).

ICPC has been held since 1977. Russia became champions 13 times in the XXI century. For comparison: China won only four times, and Poland — two times.
