Opening of distance advanced training courses for chemistry teachers of the Kemerovo region

On 23 July 2019 Rector of Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU) Academician Victor A. Sadovnichy held a meeting with Governor of the Kemerovo region - Kuzbass Sergey E. Tsivilev at University Gymnasium (Boarding School). The event was timed to the presentation of certificates about distance advanced training courses completion of the Kemerovo region math teachers and to the opening of such kind of courses for chemistry teachers.

         Rector of MSU Academician Victor A. Sadovnichy noted that the advanced training courses programs of teachers from Russian regions are implemented within the project of the Vernadsky consortium aimed to support education and science in the regions, to strength ties between regional and leading universities of the country and to ensure a high level of training in the field. The Rector stressed that Moscow State University is ready to act as a locomotive for educational organizations in the regions, including implementing teacher advanced training programs, as well as opening distance courses for school students.

         Governor of the Kemerovo Region - Kuzbass Sergey E. Tsivilev expressed hope for the further deepening of cooperation between the region and Moscow State University in the framework of the Vernadsky-Kuzbass scientific and educational consortium: to involve more and more teachers in the work of advanced training programs, to open training programs on the basis of Moscow State University for gifted children from the Kemerovo region with subsequent return.

         In May 2019, MSU launched a series of distance advanced training programs for teachers from regions across the country. More than 120 teachers from all over Russia have attended the courses to this date: from Krasnodar, Stavropol, Krasnoyarsk, Khabarovsk, Primorsky Krai, the republics of Chechnya, Ingushetia, Dagestan, Bashkortostan, Udmurtia, Sakha (Yakutia), Murmansk, Samara, Orenburg, Tyumen, Kemerovo, Tomsk, Irkutsk regions, Yamal-Nenets and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug.
