On September 30, MSU hosted the All-Russian Scientific Conference "Relevant Problems of National Security: the View of Youth", organized by the MSU Student Union and the Vernadsky All-Russian Student Club with grant support from the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs “Rosmolodezh”.

The conference was attended by more than 30 students from leading universities of the Russian Federation: Moscow State University, St. Petersburg State University, MGIMO, GAUGN, Financial University, TulSU, Buryat State University, Southern Federal University, MEPhI, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, RTU - MIRES, the International Law Institute, RANEPA. 

It is noteworthy that the participants of the event were young scientists not only in the humanities, but also in physics and mathematics and natural science. The event was attended by students of Moscow State University and universities of the Vernadsky Scientific and Educational consortia regions.

In their reports, the participants have tackled the following topics:

· National security and national interests; 

· National security in a multipolar world; 

· National security and identity issues; 

· Strategy of scientific and technological development and national security issues; 

· National security and ecology;

· National security and information technology;

· Guarantees of national security;

· Prevention of the spread of the ideology of terrorism and extremism.

Ekaterina Zimakova, Head of the Department of methodological support and organization of work with talented youth, Chairman of the MSU Student Union, head of the Vernadsky VSC, made a welcoming speech, in which she has told about the Vernadsky VSC project and invited participants to establish youth scientific cooperation.

Kochetkov Vladimir Viktorovich, Doctor of Sociology, Professor, Deputy Head of the Department of Geopolitics of the Faculty of Global Processes of MSU presented a plenary report in which he spoke about the problems in the field of national security in the period of global transformations.

The event was followed by the performances of students of Russian universities:

· Ekaterina Trigub, a 3rd-year postgraduate student at the Faculty of International Economic Relations of the Financial University, spoke about one of the ways to ensure the national security of the Russian Federation – the policy of deoffshorization;

· Roman Dianov, 2nd year Masters student of the Faculty of International Journalism MGIMO in his speech focused on the precariat as a threat to the economic security of the Russian Federation;

· Alina Belousova, a 2nd-year Masters student of the Faculty of Global Processes of MSU, presented a report on the safety of nuclear power plants;

· Olga Bobrovskaya, a 1st-year Masters student of the Faculty of Public Administration of MSU shared the results of her research in the field of transformation of the political and economic sphere under sanctions;

· Mikhail Stepanov, a 2nd-year Masters student at the Faculty of Political Science of the National Academy of Sciences, analyzed the constitutional provision on the state-forming nation and identified in it one of the threats to national security;

· Varvara Kotova, a 2nd year undergraduate student at the Faculty of Public Administration of MSU, spoke about one of the vectors of the development of the national security of the Russian Federation – the ethics of Big Data management;

· Dmitry Abramov, Associate Professor of the Department of Information Security at the Institute of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science of TulSU presented methods of minimizing the damage from the imposition of sanctions in the field of information security by improving the educational process;

· Dmitry Pogorelsky, a 2nd-year Masters student at the Faculty of Public Administration of MSU, spoke about the threat to national security posed by Internet extremism;

· Vladimir Gorobets, a 1st-year Masters student at the Faculty of Political Science of MSU, gave an example of threats to national security in the context of studying video games;

· Igor Vasilik, 1st year Masters student of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Mass Communications of the Financial University presented the report "The problem of rehabilitation of Nazism in the Baltic States as a threat to Russia's national security"; 

· Darya Yarosheva, a 1st year Masters student of the Faculty of Political Science of MSU analyzed the products of the music industry in the context of studying national security issues;

 

· Alexandra Solonenko, 1st year Masters student of the Faculty of Political Science of MSU presented the report "The concept of human security and state sovereignty";

· Andrey Kashchenko, a 4th-year undergraduate student of the Faculty of Political Science of MSU, conducted a comparative analysis of the regulations of the Russian Federation and the United States in the field of national security;

· Alexandra Volkova, a 1st-year Masters student of the Faculty of Political Science of MSU, spoke about the increasing importance of the environmental factor in national security;

· Alexandra Khatkevich, 1st year Masters student of the Faculty of Political Science of MSU, presented the report "Energy Security: Concept and aspects".

During the event, students actively asked questions and participated in the discussion. 

In conclusion, the moderator of the conference - the chairman of the NSO of the Faculty of Political Science of Moscow State University, Daria Kozlova, summed up the results of the event and invited students to join forces and conduct joint interdisciplinary research in the field of national security.
