The festive events at MSU opened with an Assembly meeting dedicated to the 266th anniversary of the founding of our Alma mater. Outstanding graduates of the first university of Russia, honored guests and today's students accepted the invitations and attended the most important holiday in the life of the university. Greeting the guests in the assembly hall of the Main Building of the Moscow State University, the rector of the University, Academician Victor Sadovnichy, congratulated all those who came to the first festive event this year on a good holiday.

The culmination of the solemn meeting was the presentation of the highest public award of Moscow State University — Star of Moscow University 2021. The chairman of the MSU Student Union Ekaterina Zimakova announced the winner of the award - the legendary pilot-cosmonaut, twice Hero of the Soviet Union, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vladimir Solovyov. 


A unique personality, an outstanding scientist, a pilot-cosmonaut, who made 2 space flights with 8 spacewalks. Vladimir Alekseevich was awarded numerous state awards (the Order of Honor, the Order of Friendship, the Order of Lenin and other awards) that can not be listed for one performance. He is the head of the Russian segment of the International Space Station.

Vladimir Alekseevich is an honorary professor of Moscow State University and the scientific director of the Faculty of Space Research of Moscow State University.
